Hello readers!

Winter is still very much upon us (in some areas of the country more than others!) and so we provide you with some weekend reading; stay in where it's warm (or dry if you're on the west coast) and take a look at the latest issue of the magazine, here.

We have for you a great collection of articles including an honest and reflective account of one man's career in tropical forestry, not withholding the regrets and mistakes that shaped it, a look at biochar application on forest stands in Ontario and the implications and opportunities of the work being done in the field, regional reports from across the country detailing upcoming conferences, initiatives and forest health concerns.

This issue also features a new column dedicated to celebrating the incredible capabilities and skills that are uniquely forged through the experience of working in the bush, and the interesting and diverse places those skills have led to.

As always, we welcome you to comment on the articles (view individual articles on the homepage to leave feedback), share the content and submit an article or photo for publication. Use this as a platform for disucussion and help us further the dialogue.

Happy reading,
